Schwartz Gabion boxes are made of triple * twisted hexagonal mesh fabric. The steel mesh fabric possesses high mechanical strength, and triple twist weaving of wire prevents unravelling. Gabions are a
trusted, well proven and technically sound way to retain soil and to combat erosion. Their strength comes from a triple twisted hexagonal mesh of steel wire, which is reinforced by selvedges of heavier
gauge wire running along the edges and by transverse internal diaphragms. The triple twist wire configuration ensures that minimal strength reduction occurs.
* (Schwartz Gabions can be supplied in 5 Twist as well which is proven to have better load bearing strength than the traditional triple twist.)

GAL - 1 Coating : Heavy Galvanized 99.99% Pure Zinc Coating

  • A traditional approach of hot dip galvanizing
  • Heavy zinc coating gives better performance by providing increased protection and more sacrificial zinc to prevent corrosion of the base steel and any cut edges

GALUM - 1 Coating : Zinc 95% + Aluminium 5%

  • C-ialum - 1 wire is produced using a unique double dip process; resulting in an ironaluminium inter-metallic layer that is extremely ductile and covered with a heavier layer of zinc & aluminium alloy steel.
  • Zinc-Alu coating provides the exceptional corrosion resistance due to combination of sacrificial protection offered by the zinc with the passive corrosion characteristics of the aluminium in alloy. The Zinc-Alu coating has an anodic feature that heals over the exposed steel better than galvanized.
  • Zinc -Alu coated wire can take more sever bending with virtually no cracking of flaking compared to ordinary heavy galvanized wire.

PVC Coating : Poly Vinyl Coating on heavy galvanized or Zinc-Alu wire

  • PVC coated wires can resist corrosion with greater efficiency thus making the gabions suitable for salty, marine or polluted environments.
  • Schwartz Gabions uses 100% virgin grade PVC for coating on galvanized or Zinc-Alu wire.
  • The anti-aging and anti-cracking quality of PVC ensure the longer life of wire than any other coating.
  • PVC is resistant to moisture and water. The moisture resistant property also ensure the durability of the wire. it is also resistant to ultraviolet rays.
  • PVC coated wire can withstand extreme weathering. it can endure heat of up 60oC
